TravelOn Packing Squares

March 26, 2018

GREAT:  What do we want?  ORGANIZATION! When do we want it? NOW!  If you don’t personally know me I’m a huge fan of schedules, to-do list, and organization.  I don’t personally thrive in chaos – I like to at least have the illusion of control.  Seriously I am a sucker for anything that can provide my life more structure.

When I was a new mom, I quickly realized no matter how many pockets my diaper bag provided me I still felt like it took me years to find what I needed when I needed it.  There is nothing worse than your newborn baby screaming in public and you can’t find what you need.  I remember the first time this happened to me I broke out into a cold sweat and immediately started panicking.  It is so much nicer when you can get that magical toy, diaper, pacifier, etc. within 10 seconds or less rather than digging around the black hole that is your diaper bag.

I love these packing squares because they brought organization to my new mom life.  There are three different sizes so they can be used so many different ways.  The mesh top panel provides visibility allowing you to easily and clearly see what is inside.  The colored zippers are a great design detail that allows you to quickly distinguish between the squares so you can grab the bag you need.

While small in size, the packing squares hold quite a good amount.  The largest square is where I keep multiple diapers, wipes, a changing pad and a change of clothes.  When we are out as a family, if I need to change a diaper I simply grab the square and Thomas to take to the bathroom rather than having to lug the diaper bag around everywhere with me.

GOOD:  Ever since buying these packing squares nearly two years ago, I have used them every single day and they still look to be in excellent condition and work perfectly.  I have never had an issue with the zippers or any of the material that the squares are made out of.  As if the squares didn’t already provide me with enough organization, there are additional side pockets in each of the squares to organize things within the organizers.

These weren’t designed to organize your diaper bag, they were designed for accessories or toiletries when traveling.  This means you can use these in so many different ways.  It isn’t a product to be used only when you have a baby/toddler, you can use this well after your baby is grown.  You can use in your suitcase for personal travel, in your purse, in your car, as your makeup bag, etc.  The possibilities are endless.

I personally only use the largest and smallest bag within my diaper bag.  The middle bag I keep for myself and use for me when I’m traveling.

BAD:  I have tried to think of something that I don’t like about these bags and it has been quite the struggle.  The one thing that would be great to have is a zipper pocket within one of the packing squares.  This hasn’t been a deal breaker and honestly isn’t that huge of an issue, but if I could improve these in any way that is what it would be.

My other bad, or rather warning related to these packing squares is to be careful where you buy this.  From my research different places charge different amounts throughout the year and therefore if you aren’t careful you could be overpaying for these.  These squares are wonderful at the right price, but if you overpay you will probably question whether or not they are worth it.  When you purchase, you shouldn’t pay more than $17 for the set of three.

UGLY:  It was hard enough to think of a bad for these so there is no way that I would be able to think of an ugly.  If you are needing some more organization in your life you should definitely check these out as you will not regret it.
